Equality
At Manor Junior School, we believe it is vital for all children to develop an understanding of the world they live in and learn how to respect and coexist with a diverse range of individuals.
The Public Sector Equality Duty in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 requires that schools take steps to:
- eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited by or under the Equality Act 2010
- advance equality of opportunity between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it
- foster good relations between persons who share a relevant protected characteristic and persons who do not share it
These aims are central to the moral purpose of the school and are embedded within our school’s ERIC values.
